In this blog we explain the diversity of questions we can answer and our commitment to helping you improve your tourism business.

A little bit about us

The Tourism Tribe online chat is a service available to members and designed to assist them with their business. It’s open for business 0800-1800 Monday to Friday Australian Central Standard time. Outside these times your questions get sent to us as emails and we’ll answer as soon as we can.

Just so you know sometimes we may ask you to post your questions in the forums so that all members can learn, but if you don’t want to do this we will provide the answer to your questions on the spot.

We never leave your questions unanswered!

Often people visiting the site assume, incorrectly, that we are Government funded, which we are not, but we at the Tribe are all about helping our industry and in particular our members, so we don’t mind helping you out, no matter what the question as long as it’s tourism related.

We work with all levels of Government to grow our industry and don’t mind helping everyone.

Our commitment to you

We recently calculated that the Tourism Tribe’s founding members collectively have 80 years tourism experience, so if we don’t know the answer you can be assured we know where to find it.

Hopefully, you’ll spread the good word and encourage new members to join and as the Tribe grows and we all benefit from shared knowledge.

Below is a small sample of the type of questions we get asked along with the answers, so you can see the range of questions we will answer to assist you.  All the questions and answers are actual questions we have received recently, which may have been slightly edited to protect privacy.

Q Hello, Could you tell me what documents I should get if I want to start a tourism business?

A (after some qualification) this may be a good place to start

and after further qualification, which indicated the person was from China and was interested in setting up a Travel Agency in Australia, try this website  

Q We are considering starting a new business in the accommodation industry around Melbourne and are looking for data to reinforce our Business Plan

A – Have you been in contact with Tourism Research Australia ?

Q Wow, I am surprised you know of me already. About a month away from taking over a guest house in the outback of SA. Looking at auto booking systems.

A – If you go to the online bookings hub here you’ll find all the resources about that subject together – including some great forum questions.

Q How can I target and audience with a Facebook post?

A- You’ll find general information on Facebook in our hub here  you can also find the answer here

Q Would you have any information about creating customer surveys?

A – (We didn’t so we wrote one!)
