Helping Bundaberg Region tourism operators build AI readiness and digital capability through a hands-on workshop, individual assessment, and tailored one-on-one coaching.

Bundaberg Tourism has partnered with Tourism Tribe to deliver this subsidised AI Industry Capability Program, designed to help Bundaberg Region tourism operators understand where they stand in the AI-driven marketplace and take clear, practical action to improve their visibility and competitiveness.

The shift to AI-driven discovery is already changing how travellers research, compare and book experiences. Operators who adapt early are seeing real benefits: improved visibility in AI-generated recommendations and increased enquiry volumes. This program is a step-change from traditional digital training. It is a hands-on AI readiness accelerator designed to keep Bundaberg operators visible and competitive in an AI-driven travel purchase journey.

Through a three-stage approach — a practical in-person workshop, an individual AI and Digital Engagement Health Check, and personalised one-on-one coaching — each business will receive specific, prioritised recommendations and the support needed to act on them.

Program Highlights

In-person Workshop

A half-day, face-to-face group session to be held mid-June 2026. This session sets the foundation for the program and ensures all participants understand the context and opportunity.

Topics covered:

  • What has changed in the travel purchase journey
  • How AI is influencing visibility and bookings
  • What matters now for tourism businesses
  • Overview of the assessment process and expected outcomes

You will leave with a clear picture of the AI landscape and what you need to prioritise for your own business.

AI and Digital Engagement Health Check™

Each participating operator receives a tailored individual assessment combining:

  • AI readiness and visibility review
  • Website and digital presence evaluation
  • Assessment of key marketing fundamentals required for AI responsiveness

Each business receives a written report with clear, prioritised recommendations and practical, actionable insights. Reports are designed to be shared with your own team or external providers such as web developers and marketers.

One-on-One Coaching

This is where the real value is delivered. Each operator receives two hours of dedicated coaching to:

  • Walk through their report in detail
  • Clarify priorities and quick wins
  • Receive step-by-step guidance on implementation
  • Address individual business challenges

Participants will also be directed to relevant Tourism Tribe resources to support their ongoing learning after the program.

This program is designed for tourism, hospitality and experience-based businesses in the Bundaberg Region who want to:

  • Receive a clear, prioritised action plan specific to their business
  • Build confidence and capability with AI tools and digital marketing

Places are limited. Priority will be given to businesses with an active website who can commit to participating in all three program components.

Program Dates

  • 29 May: EOI close and participant selection
  • 15 June 2026: In-person kick-off workshop, 9:30am–12:30pm, Bundaberg School of Arts Building
  • Early July 2026: AI & Digital Engagement Health Check
  • July – August 2026: One-on-one coaching (after school holidays)
  • All coaching sessions completed by 15 August, 2026

Liz Ward

Liz is the co-founder of Tourism Tribe and a recognised expert in business strategy and digital transformation, with over 25 years' experience across large and small businesses. Today, she is focused on helping tourism operators understand how AI is reshaping marketing, from automating repetitive tasks to using AI-driven insights to find the right customers at the right time.

As a coach, Liz brings big-picture thinking to every conversation. She helps operators map their objectives, identify their ideal customers, and spot opportunities where AI and smart digital strategy can give them an edge. She is highly sought after as a presenter, mentor and workshop trainer.

Tourism Tribe launched in 2015 and now supports over 1,600 tourism operators across Australia and the world. It was recognised in the Queensland Tourism Industry Innovation Awards (2016) and the UNWTO Innovation Awards (2015).

Liz is also Managing Director of Digital Coaching International, a network of specialists who guide businesses through digital and AI transformation of their marketing and operations.

Liz is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Australian Institute of Management. She has served on several boards, including Tourism and Events Queensland and Women Chiefs of Enterprise, Australia.
