Anyone who owns or manages an organisation needs to have a clear outline of what they want to achieve, what their values are, who their customers are, and how they want to operate. Entrepreneurs who design and follow a business plan are twice as likely to succeed in their endeavour.
Creating and applying a business plan can seem like a time-consuming and challenging exercise, but the payoffs are worth the effort. Whether you are establishing a brand new business or if you think that it’s time to take another look at the structure behind your established business, this month’s training will help you to identify the most important aspects of laying the foundations for a healthy and thriving business in the tourism industry.
Through the sessions we will introduce you to creative processes and helpful tools to renew your value proposition to your ideal guests and step you through how to develop your business plan for 2019-20 so you’re ready to make next financial year your best year yet in business.
Week 1 – Business analysis workbook (20 min)
As a warm-up, we will provide a downloadable workbook that guides you through a do-it-yourself analysis of your established or anticipated business. The workbook will help you to identify internal and external factors that impact the success of your business and encourage you to think about possible strategies to make the most of your strengths, embrace business opportunities, minimise your weaknesses and deal with possible threats.

Week 2 – Live Panel Session – Thursday 16 May 10:00am-11:00am AEST
Delivered by successful entrepreneurs and experienced business leaders, the panel will share their top advice for developing and improving your tourism business plan and traps to avoid. Whether you’re new to business management or operate a long-standing tourism organisation, this is the perfect opportunity to find out what works and apply it to your business.

Week 3 – Live Workshop – Friday 24 May 11:00am-12:00pm AEST
The live workshop will follow with case studies and step by step advice on the most important factors to consider when planning your tourism business.

Week 4 – Q&A session – Friday 31 May 11:00am-11:45am AEST
The Q&A session is the final session and will ensure all participants have the ability to discuss what they have implemented during the month and get any remaining questions answered.
