In addition to her contribution to the Tourism Awards, Liz has 25 years of experience specialising in marketing and technology for tourism, uniquely blending knowledge and expertise for the benefit of regions across Australia and the world. Julia Retson
Julia is Tourism Tribe's Operations Manager and brings particular expertise in the visual side of award submissions. She compiles and curates evidence-based image suites that are carefully edited and presented as branded visuals — a part of the submission that many operators underestimate. Julia is also an expert reviewer. She reads drafts with a critical eye, identifying gaps and strengthening responses before they are finalised. Her background in graphic design, engineering and education means she approaches every submission with both attention to detail and a clear understanding of what makes a compelling, well-supported entry.
Claire McCollum
Claire is a Tourism Tribe coach with genuine grassroots experience in the tourism industry. She has worked as a tour guide in both Kakadu and the Kimberleys, and spent five years as Marketing and Business Manager for an accommodation business. That first-hand experience as an operator gives her a real understanding of what businesses face day to day. This background makes Claire a strong awards consultant. She helps operators articulate their achievements and strengths in a way that resonates with judges, drawing on six years of coaching and mentoring tourism businesses. She holds a Cert IV in Tourism and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Science).
