Tell us something quirky or memorable about you, your customers or your business

We recently welcomed the Deputy Premier, Jackie Trad as a gust during the July School Holidays. Jackie attended our Native Title Celebrations and remarked ever so politely about our strict three minute timed showers. To our delight, we are now able to tell Jackie that thanks to our solar power initiatives soon, we will be able to give her SIX MINUTE showers for a fraction of the cost and burden on the environment.

We go to Amity Point camp ground every year just because we love finishing off the day at the jetty. We tried the Eco Shack for the first time this year and will be using them every year from now on. Jody was extra helpful when we had a problem with keys & went out of her way to us during our entire

What is a thing you love about your business?

We love being able to create unforgettable holiday experiences for our guests in such an untouched, natural paradise. Showing new guests the beauty of Minjerribah never fails to excite us and share our passions, our land and our stories with those eager to hear them is what drives us to grow and continue our work.

What is the company background?

Originally, the campgrounds of North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) were managed by the local Redland City Council. After Native Title was determined in 2011 the council handed the campgrounds over to Straddie Camping which was owned by Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) and the Quandamooka Yulu-Burri-Ba Aboriginal Corporation (QYAC) representing the traditional owners of Minjerribah. As of November 2017 QYAC purchased 100% of our company which means we are now owned and run by our Quandamooka People.

What is your ultimate vision for your business?

We would love to see the whole island returned to the Quandamooka people so that, with our Elders we can focus on environmentally friendly eco tourism & showcase parts of this land hidden for decades.
