Tell us something quirky or memorable about you, your customers or your business

The Geelong Revival Motoring Festival showcases historic and memorable vehicles from past times. It is a memorable event as it takes visitors back in time to where they first established their love for motoring and where they can see famous vehicles which were once raced on a large stage. It is also an event where current and older generations combine together to learn and acknowledge motoring history but also make it a part of theirs. Like the older fans of the Geelong speed trials, new generations can enjoy seeing the famous sprints, renowned cars on display and establish a love for the motoring industry. It is also an opportunity to don your vintage gear and dress in the era of your car or in the era of the car you wish you owned.

First time event for me . Loved it. People showing their cars were friendly and up for a chat. Great atmosphere with people walking their dogs and the ladies selling the baked potatoes big thumbs up mine was delicious. Got a fabulous 3 hr car park and that was the start of a great day. Well done to the planners Sponsors and volunteers and most of all the array of cars. Mustangs hands down favourite

What is a thing you love about your business?

You don’t get that chance to live a childhood dream very often. Scott, the Motorsport Director grew up attending the event every year (rain, hail or shine) with his Dad and brothers and was devastated when the event originally came to an end. Bringing the event back to Geelong has been a highlight and a source of great pride and an immense privilege for Scott. Meeting and working with some of his Motorsport heroes as been a highlight and standing at the Geelong Waterfront looking down on the tens of thousands of fans that come along to enjoy the spectacle is absolutely spine tingling. It is not only about loving Motorsport, it is about loving Geelong and being proud that we can showcase our beautiful City.

What is the company background?

The Geelong Revival is based on the original Geelong Speed Trials which were created in 1956. After 50 years of success and acknowledgment from around the world, the original Speed Trials sadly came to an end in the early 2000’s. After realising that the event was sorely missed by Geelong Residents and motoring fans, Directors of Geelong Revival brought back the event in 2012 with more of a vintage and festival twist! Now in its 8th year the event continues to grow, with over 50,000 spectators and 1000 participants annually at its 3-day weekend. The event pays tribute to the original Speed Trials but also motoring history with renowned vehicles from all eras coming to attend!

What is your ultimate vision for your business?

Our vision is that the Geelong Revival continues to showcase Motorsport and all things Vintage and shows off our beautiful City and its stunning waterfront. Our mission is that locals are proud to invite their friends and relatives to the event (whether they are Motoring enthusiasts or not) and that visitors and competitors come and play, stay and fall in love with the City and return for other events. We want the event to continue to grow and becomes an internationally recognised motoring festival.
