The Story behind BIG4 Inverloch Holiday Park
BIG4 Inverloch is all about family fun! A year-round holiday destination we’re opposite a beautiful beach in the pretty village of Inverloch, just 90 minutes from Melbourne. Guests enjoy water play at any time of the year. Kids love our heated indoor splash park and heated indoor swimming pool. And, just outside the park, they can experience standup paddleboarding, sailing, kayaking, swimming and surfing on our doorstep. Kids never tire of jumping on our inflatable pillow or riding laps around our pump track on bikes and scooters. Mums, Dads, aunties, uncles and grandparents delight in watching their kids have fun, and they join in too. Happy kids = happy parents. Families BYO caravan and camping gear or indulge in our luxury three-bedroom villa-style cabins or ultra-cool glamping tents.

Park owner/operators, the Edwards Family, are holiday park innovators and the key to BIG4 Inverloch’s success. Ray, Glenys and Adrian, along with their management team have continuously reinvested time, money and their passion for developing and improving the park and delivering an exceptional guest experience, to create the aspirational family holiday destination it is today.

“As a family of 2 adults and 2 children (8 and 2 years old), I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Stayed in a superior villa (3 bedrooms). Plenty of SAFE space for the youngster to scoot/ride around for a couple of hours with heaps of things to keep him occupied including a safe scooter park, inflated jumping bag (massive trampoline with no springs) playgrounds, and roads are all car-free. All in an enclosed property. Then when we had time to supervise there is an indoor pool with heaps of space and depths for even our 2-year-old to stand up in and the indoor water park is awesome! Villa is CLEAN and MODERN, much better than expected with fans, air-con and brand new oven, dishwasher and washing machine.”

What is a thing you love about your business?
Undoubtedly, the smiles on our guests’ faces. We can feel their relief and see their sheer joy when they arrive and check-in. We know, and they anticipate that they are going to be experiencing a few days, or a few weeks of well-deserved relaxation and fun with their family. Many have saved their money and their holidays to stay with us. Many keep coming back. We never tire of hearing the laughter and giggles of all the kids having fun in the water-splash park, or the swimming pool, or jumping on the inflatable cushion, or riding bikes around and around the pump track, or just riding their bikes around the park. And for our guests without kids, we love to hear them catching up with friends and swapping stories about the local restaurants they’ve found or the fantastic sights they’ve seen.
What is the company background?
BIG4 Inverloch was built on the vision of Ray, Glenys and Adrian Edwards to create a year-round holiday destination for families. Inspired by the resorts in sunny Queensland and surrounding islands, they strived to offer a place where Victorians could relax and enjoy water play any time of the year. They were the first holiday park in Australia to install an indoor heated water splash park! After honing their tourism and hospitality skills operating a boutique coastal park at Wye River for ten years, they purchased the basic caravan park in Inverloch. They reinvested their profits to upgrade the accommodation options and guest amenities, and introduce outstanding facilities for family fun. Over the next 14 years, they developed it into an award-winning family resort and holiday destination.
What is your ultimate vision for your business?
Our vision is for BIG4 Inverloch to be the first choice family holiday destination for Victorians, year-round. We hope our kids and grandkids will carry on the park tradition and continue to add value with excellent service, accommodation and facilities. Families are our focus, but we will continue to welcome couples and groups equally and keep looking for innovative ways to add fun and relaxation to our park. We want guests to enjoy an excellent holiday experience so they will keep coming back with their families and friends and once they arrive, never want to leave!
