The Story behind Alpine Nature Experience
Alpine Nature Experience offers a truly unique experience: spending an intimate and comfortable night in the snow. Embark on an evening snowshoe adventure through the snow gums to reach a hidden eco-village and central tipi. After a glass of home made mulled wine by the fire, you will learn the secrets to prepare your own French cheese fondue, part of a 3 course dinner. Then wave the group goodnight and enjoy a cosy night’s sleep looking at the stars from your private, heated, sustainable snowdome or luxurious real Igloo. You will finish the experience on a high with a scenic skimobile tour. Alpine Nature Experience has created this experience as the ultimate snow adventure.
Who are the people behind your business
Hailing from the heart of the French alps, Jean-Francois has always wanted to encourage others to discover the beauty of the mountains and experience the snow. Since relocating to Australia in late 2014, he has been looking for the chance to share his passion for the outdoors and alpine activities.

“At first I was sceptical of the term “Alps” in Australia, but I love the mountains here, they are more accessible than in France and have an untouched feeling to them. With Alpine Nature Experience, I want to encourage more people to experience everything the snow has to offer”. Mount Hotham was a clear standout for his project due to the striking beauty of the mountain, snow reliability and overall atmosphere.

You have created a truly unique and respectful village that not only highlights our wonderful setting but also how we can all be more aware of our impact on it. The feast we were treated to was well thought out and the delivery was most enjoyable. Can't wait to return.
What is a thing you love about your business?
For me the snow is about much more than skiing; it’s about the breathtaking scenery, the fascinating history, the heart-warming food, just immersing yourself in nature.
Being able to help people discover this, while educating them about our fragile environment in a stunning location is always something I look forward to!
What is the company background?
ANE was founded in 2017 with a clear goal: to create an exclusive and adventurous snow experience unlike any other in the Australian Alps.
Inspired by his early years in the French Alps and his passion for outdoor activities, Frenchman and ANE founder, Jean-Francois Rupp, had a vision and the drive to achieve it.
Most Australians only consider the snow country as a skiing destination. To Jean-Francois that was like reducing a beach holiday to only surfing. Snow is about much more than skiing – it’s the magic of winter, the tantalising alpine food, the majesty of the mountains, the artist’s palette in the snow gums and so many exciting activities.

You don’t have to ski or be an intrepid adventurer to discover the beauty of the Australian Alps and immerse yourself in nature.
