Program Overview

The City of Onkaparinga is collaborating with Tourism Tribe to offer businesses in the region a bespoke program to assist them to develop and enhance their digital marketing capabilities.  The three-month program focuses on ensuring best practice online presence of their businesses and enhancement of individuals’ digital skills to develop their digital marketing confidence and capabilities.

The Digital Champions Program will help work towards digital goals for your business, identify areas requiring attention and remove barriers to improve online presence and grow your business in our dynamic digital marketplace.  Through a three-pronged approach, providing business-specific recommendations for improvement, online tech training sessions and access to online courses, you will be assisted to assess, develop and grow.

The Process

Introductory Workshop

The program begins with a live online introductory workshop hosted by Tourism Tribe, where you’ll meet the team, gain a clear overview of the program structure, and learn how to make the most of your Digital Engagement Health Check™ and other program resources. This session will set you up for success and help you get started with confidence.

Digital Engagement Health Checks™

We’ll then schedule a full Digital Engagement Health Check™ of your online assets, including your business website, Google My Business listing, Facebook and Instagram.  Each business will receive a copy of their assessment report, which will be extremely useful to guide your learning focus and priorities.

Coaching

For those who have opted in to the coaching component of this program, you will benefit from a 1 hour one-on-one session with our digital and tourism experts. You will be invited to book your session once you have received you Digital Engagement Health Check™.

Digital Champions Course

During this three-month program you’ll complete Tourism Tribe’s signature course, Digital Champions. Depending on your current level you will focus on either Digital Champions 101 for digital marketing beginners or those wanting to strengthen the basics or Digital Champions 202 for operators with an established digital presence looking to optimise and expand.

Tourism Digital Assistance Member

You’ll also have access to all the perks of being a full Tourism Tribe Digital Assistance Member including the extensive Tourism Tribe online course library to help you to improve your knowledge and digital skills. Twice per month you will also be able to attend an online tourism tech training session where Tourism Tribe experts will teach you new skills. You’ll also have the opportunity within these sessions to discuss your challenges and issues with a member of the Tourism Tribe coaching team, and hear from other operators from around Australia about their experiences in developing their online presence and digital marketing strategies.

Any information collected by Tourism Tribe on behalf of the city of Onkaparinga about you and your business will be used solely for the Onkaparinga Digital Champions program. If your application to be part of the program is unsuccessful, all information collected will be destroyed.

  • 24 June 9:30 (SA time): Introductory webinar online via Zoom
  • Late June: participants receive Digital Engagement Health Check ™ reports
  • June-August: participants complete self-paced Digital Champions course
  • June-August: participants complete optional coaching session
  • End of August: access to support library and tech training sessions end

Liz Ward

Liz is the co-founder of Tourism Tribe and a recognised expert in business strategy and digital transformation, with over 25 years' experience across large and small businesses. Today, she is focused on helping tourism operators understand how AI is reshaping marketing, from automating repetitive tasks to using AI-driven insights to find the right customers at the right time.

As a coach, Liz brings big-picture thinking to every conversation. She helps operators map their objectives, identify their ideal customers, and spot opportunities where AI and smart digital strategy can give them an edge. She is highly sought after as a presenter, mentor and workshop trainer.

Tourism Tribe launched in 2015 and now supports over 1,600 tourism operators across Australia and the world. It was recognised in the Queensland Tourism Industry Innovation Awards (2016) and the UNWTO Innovation Awards (2015).

Liz is also Managing Director of Digital Coaching International, a network of specialists who guide businesses through digital and AI transformation of their marketing and operations.

Liz is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Australian Institute of Management. She has served on several boards, including Tourism and Events Queensland and Women Chiefs of Enterprise, Australia.

Can I access the training at my own pace?

Absolutely. All our self-paced courses are available online anytime, so you can learn when it suits you – even during your quiet season or in between guests. You can ask a question at any time at the bottom of each lesson and we’ll get back to you super quick!
