Program Overview

Fraser Coast Tourism has partnered with Tourism Tribe to offer this fully funded bespoke program to assist tourism, events and hospitality businesses of the Fraser Coast to be the Best in Queensland and to digitally transform their businesses.  The program focuses on individuals’ digital knowledge and skills to build their business’s online presence.

The Fraser Coast Tourism & Events Best of Queensland Digital Program will help you work towards digital goals for your business, identify areas requiring attention and remove barriers to improve online presence and grow your business in the Covid operating environment.

Participants will experience a highly tailored digital support program, relevant to their current levels of digital confidence and capabilities.  Each participant will receive a personalised Digital Engagement Health Check ™ at the start and completion of the program, will have access to two half-day workshops designed for both beginner and intermediate levels, as well as two hours of one on one mentoring and skills coaching with a digital expert.

Topics span essential online presence and digital marketing areas including social media, Facebook advertising, optimising local search and online listings including the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse and Google Business, search engine optimisation, analytics and email marketing automation.

The Process

Start with Digital Engagement Health Checks™

Once you receive your welcome email, we’ll start right away on a full Digital Engagement Health Check™ of your online assets, including your business website, Google My Business listing, Facebook and Instagram.  Each business will receive both an assessment report.

Workshops

The in-region workshop on 7 June has been split into 2 half day workshops targeted at beginner and intermediate levels.

It is organised so that attendees of the morning workshop may chose to stay on for the afternoon and advance their learning.

Beginner Level – 9:00am-12:00pm

The morning workshop is ideal for people who would like to gain clarity on how they can benefit from social media for their business and would also like to ensure that their online presence supports the quality and style of the experiences they deliver. It will be focused on Facebook and Instagram fundamentals; and establishing a quality online presence.

Workshop topics include:

  • Facebook Fundamentals
  • Instagram Fundamentals
  • Optimising your ATDW listing
  • Online Reputation
Intermediate Level – 1:00pm-4:00pm

Focused on social media strategy; Facebook Advertising’ and ways to improve conversion on your website, the afternoon workshop is ideal for people who feel they have their fundamental online presence in order but would like to take a more planned approach with socials and get more strategic with their website.

Workshop topics include:

  • Creating your Social Media Strategy (template provided)
  • Introduction to Facebook Advertising
  • Improve your Website

1:1 Coaching

A two-hour in person coaching session is available for each participant, where strategists will walk you through recommendations relevant to your business (from your digital assessment) and help you develop a digital strategy to implement these recommendations.

Second Digital Engagement Health Check™

At the completion of the program, your business will undergo a follow up Digital Engagement Health Check™ where you’ll be able to see just how far you’ve come towards becoming a digital superhero.

Tourism Tribe Course Library

During this whole program, you’ll have access to the extensive Tourism Tribe course library to help you to improve your knowledge and digital skills.  These courses can be found on your dashboard.

Any information collected by Tourism Tribe on behalf of Fraser Coast Tourism & Events about you and your business will be used solely for the Best of Queensland Digital Program. If your application to be part of the program is unsuccessful, all information collected will be destroyed.

  • 7 June 2022: Two in-region half-day workshops
    • 9:00am-12:00pm – Beginner topics including Facebook and Instagram Fundamentals
    • 1:00pm-4:00pm – Intermediate topics including Social Media Strategy and Intro to Facebook Advertising
  • 8-10 June 2022: 2hr face to face 1:1 coaching sessions
  • 16 November 2022: Access to support library ends

Liz Ward

Liz is the co-founder of Tourism Tribe and a recognised expert in business strategy and digital transformation, with over 25 years' experience across large and small businesses. Today, she is focused on helping tourism operators understand how AI is reshaping marketing, from automating repetitive tasks to using AI-driven insights to find the right customers at the right time.

As a coach, Liz brings big-picture thinking to every conversation. She helps operators map their objectives, identify their ideal customers, and spot opportunities where AI and smart digital strategy can give them an edge. She is highly sought after as a presenter, mentor and workshop trainer.

Tourism Tribe launched in 2015 and now supports over 1,600 tourism operators across Australia and the world. It was recognised in the Queensland Tourism Industry Innovation Awards (2016) and the UNWTO Innovation Awards (2015).

Liz is also Managing Director of Digital Coaching International, a network of specialists who guide businesses through digital and AI transformation of their marketing and operations.

Liz is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Australian Institute of Management. She has served on several boards, including Tourism and Events Queensland and Women Chiefs of Enterprise, Australia.

Can I access the training at my own pace?

Absolutely. All our self-paced courses are available online anytime, so you can learn when it suits you – even during your quiet season or in between guests. You can ask a question at any time at the bottom of each lesson and we’ll get back to you super quick!
