Program Overview

Discovery Coast Tourism and Commerce in collaboration with Tourism Tribe is offering this fully funded Crisis Management Program, designed to empower tourism businesses with support and training. The Crisis Management content will provide 1770 accommodation, tours and attraction businesses with knowledge and skills to build on tourism businesses resilience with essential training and tools, enabling effective crisis management and fostering sustainable recovery in the face of future challenges.

This fully subsidised program will assist 10 small tourism businesses to equip these businesses with essential training and tools for effective crisis management, fostering sustainable recovery in the face of future challenges. You will have a personalised and interactive learning and support experience through customised workshops, course library and consultation sessions.

By equipping small tourism businesses with essential training and tools, the program aims to empower them to navigate future challenges successfully. Effective crisis management and sustainable recovery strategies are crucial for the long-term viability and resilience of these businesses, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has heavily impacted the tourism industry. Through personalised and interactive learning experiences, the program will help tourism businesses enhance their marketing strategies, effectively reach out to consumers, and develop the skills and confidence needed to manage crises and recover from them in a sustainable manner.

The Process

Live Workshops

Three ninety-minute live workshops will be presented by the Tourism Tribe team with each workshop focusing on one of the three fundamental steps in creating and uploading your lead magnet.

  • In-person, full-day workshop: 9am – 5pm, 1 August
  • Online Workshop 1: 11am-12pm, 23 August
  • Online Workshop 2: 11am-12pm, 6 September
  • Online Workshoop 3: 11am-12pm, 4 October

1:1 Coaching

A one-hour coaching session will be delivered in person by Despina to help support you through implementing the workbooks and tools provided.

Digital Academy Course Library
During this whole program, you’ll have access to the extensive Tourism Tribe’s Digital Academy course library to help you work your way through the Crisis Management materials . Comprehensive courses support each aspect of the program and you have access to a wide range of other topics to assist you in your business. These courses can be found on your Digital Academy Dashboard.

Any information collected by Tourism Tribe on behalf of Discovery Coast Tourism and Commerce about you and your business will be used solely for the Crisis Management Program 2023.  If your application to be part of the program is unsuccessful, all information collected will be destroyed.

Despina Karatzias is your project manager and your contact at Tourism Tribe.

She’s Tourism Tribe’s GM and has been instrumental in the development of new marketing strategies in our industry, establishing strong agent based relationships, implementing carbon offset initiatives, a positive working culture, putting into effect key performance indicators to track growth in her team and driving sales in her role as Business Manager with leading Victorian business, Global Ballooning.

Can I access the training at my own pace?

Absolutely. All our self-paced courses are available online anytime, so you can learn when it suits you – even during your quiet season or in between guests. You can ask a question at any time at the bottom of each lesson and we’ll get back to you super quick!
