Learn essential digital skills to grow your business and work smarter​

Program Overview

Destination NSW has partnered with Tourism Tribe to offer this fully funded Digital Skills Accelerator for Tourism to assist tourism businesses in Greater Sydney, including accommodation, tours and attractions to digitally transform their marketing.

The program aims to help tourism businesses to improve their digital skills and online presence, build their digital marketing channels and ultimately help grow their business.

  • Round one commences February 2023 and is open to Western Sydney businesses, including those in Sydney’s Central River City and Western Parklands City.
  • Round two commences March 2023 and is open to Greater Sydney businesses, including those in Sydney’s Eastern Harbour City, Central River City and Western Parklands City.

This free program will 200 assist businesses to work towards goals with a customised Digital Engagement Health Check™, ATDW Health Check and individual consultation sessions.

The Digital Skills Accelerator for Tourism is part of the NSW First Program, delivered by Destination NSW to assist businesses across the state to develop, promote and sell great visitor experiences.

Eligibility

  • Western Sydney applicants must be based in one of the following LGAs: Blue Mountains City Council, Hawkesbury City Council, Penrith City Council, Liverpool City Council, Fairfield City Council, Camden Council, Campbelltown City Council, Wollondilly Shire Council, City of Parramatta, The Hills Shire Council, Blacktown City, Cumberland City Council, Georges River Council, Sutherland Shire Council and City of Canterbury-Bankstown.
  • Greater Sydney applicants must be based in one of the following LGAs: Bayside Council, Burwood Council, Canada Bay Council, Hornsby Shire Council, Hunter’s Hill Council, Inner West Council, Ku-rin-gai Council, Lane Cove Council, Mosman Council, North Sydney Council, Northern Beaches Council, City of Randwick Council, City of Ryde Council, Strathfield Council, Sutherland Shire Council, City of Sydney Council, Waverley Council, City of Willoughby Council, Woollahra Council.
  • Applicants must operate a tour, visitor attraction or accommodation business.
  • Applicants must have an active NSW ATDW listing under the categories tour, attraction or accommodation.
  • Applicants must articulate how participating in the program will transform their business.
  • One application per business, applications for multiple locations will not be accepted.
  • Submissions with incorrect or incomplete details including website and social media URLs will not be considered.
  • Places are limited to 200 participants and will be assessed on a first come, first served basis and best fit to eligibility criteria.

The Process

Start with Digital Engagement and ATDW Health Checks™
Once you receive your welcome email, we’ll start right away on a full Digital Engagement Health Check™ of your online assets, including your business website, Google My Business listing, Facebook and Instagram as well as your ATDW Health Check. Each business will receive both assessment reports with point by point recommendations for all points requiring improvement.

1:1 Coaching
Two one-hour coaching sessions are available for each participant, where strategists will walk you through recommendations relevant to your business (from your digital assessment) and help you develop a digital strategy to implement these recommendations.

Tourism Tribe Course Library
During this whole program, you’ll have access to the extensive Tourism Tribe course library to help you to improve your knowledge and digital skills. These courses can be found on your dashboard.

Privacy notice
Any information collected by Tourism Tribe on behalf of Destination NSW about you and your business will be used solely for the Destination NSW Digital Skills Accelerator for Tourism Program. If your application to be part of the program is unsuccessful, all information collected will be destroyed.

Where do I access my course certificates?

You can view and download your course certificate for any course you have completed on that course overview page which you can access via the main navigation menu when you’re logged in.

How do I find my Digital Engagement Health Check™ report?

You’ll find the link to access your report in the email we sent to you with the subject line “Your Digital Engagement Health Check™ results”. Please do download your report so that you’ll always be able to access it.

Can I access the training at my own pace?

Absolutely. All our self-paced courses are available online anytime, so you can learn when it suits you – even during your quiet season or in between guests. You can ask a question at any time at the bottom of each lesson and we’ll get back to you super quick!

Are there live sessions or just recorded content?

We offer both! Join our live webinars and group tourism tech coaching sessions, or check out the recorded content at your convenience.
