Tell us something quirky or memorable about you, your team, your customer or your business
With a fresh outlook and simple food philosophy; cooking ‘real’ food utilising seasonal, local and organic produce, our new chef Mathew is dishing up cutting edge new dishes to complement each of Sirromet’s unique dining experiences. Mat is keen to incorporate all there is to offer here and already started experimenting utilising the yeast lees from the Cabernet in our own hand-made sourdough, along with our own honey, jams and preserves. In the works is an exciting restaurant garden full of fresh seasonal fruit and veg, including native and heirloom varieties, visitors can come and explore.
What’s the favourite thing you love about your business?
We are fortunate to have the ability to offer many “beyond the Cellar Door” experiences to visitors to Sirromet. Being able to showcase Queensland’s cool climate Granite Belt wine region together with seasonal, local and organic produce across a number of unique dining experiences, all in one place, is truly special. Add the spectacular new onsite accommodation Sanctuary by Sirromet and you truly feel like you are away with nature.
What’s the company background?
Following a passion for wine and food, Queensland entrepreneur and businessman Terry Morris visited the Granite Belt wine region and learnt of its unique terroir and climate known for producing outstanding wine sparking his vision for Sirromet. He then set out to bring his life-long dream to light and build a wine brand that not only showcases Queensland wines on the world-stage but create a tourism winery that shares his passion for everyone to discover.
What’s your ultimate vision for Sirromet Wines?
Sirromets’ vision is simple, we want to share our passion of seasonal, local food and wine, educating our visitors of our beautiful region and the importance of environmental sustainable practices.
