The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre is more than a stereotypical conference venue. We strive to be different and to reimagine the conference experience. Think a yellow Kombi van café. Think yellow tricycles laden with desserts. Think delicious and on-trend food. Think dynamic AV. In a world of standard conferencing, we stand alone.

Tell us something quirky or memorable about you, your team, your customer or your business
The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre is one of those businesses that you know is successful because hardly anyone ever leaves. Our staff have a combined 1340 years’ experience working at the venue – that’s experience just at GCCEC and doesn’t include experience gained elsewhere. Everyone genuinely loves what they do and you know staff are going to translate that love into the service they provide to clients.
What’s the favourite thing you love about your business?
No two days are the same. One day we might be hosting a meeting for 50. That evening we might have a banquet for 1,500. The next day, a conference with complex AV, for 3,000 might be in-house.
What’s the company background?
Former Queensland Premier Peter Beattie identified a need for a venue that could host large national and international business events. GCCEC was built for $167M and opened its doors in 2004. The venue is managed by the Star Entertainment Group and has contributed more than $2.64B to the Queensland economy.
What’s your ultimate vision for Gold Coast Convention and Exhibtion Centre?
For GCCEC to spearhead a strong and vibrant business events sector that is a major contributor to the Gold Coast economy.
A testimonial about Gold Coast Convention and Exhibtion Centre?
Having run this event for eight years up and down the eastern sea board the GCCEC and their staff were by far the easiest to work with, most friendly and accommodating facility I have ever used. They were an absolutely pleasure to deal with on every level. AADA Convention, Sept 2018.
